Crow’s Nest Privacy Policy

Collecting information about you

There may be times (such as when you book a room online) when we or our booking agent SEEKOM (see SEEKOM’s Privacy Policy here) will ask you to provide personal information such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information. We may also maintain a record of your product purchases.

Whether or not to provide such information is completely your own choice, but if you choose not to provide the information we request, we may be unable to sell products to you and you may be unable to access certain services, offers and content on our website. We may contact you via phone, email or postal address to ask questions or address issues specific to your order, even if you have opted to not receive communications from us.

Using information about you

We use the personal information you provide for internal purposes, such as confirming and tracking your booking or analysing statistics.

We only retain this information for as long as we need it to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected (or for directly related purposes) or as otherwise required by law.

We may contract with companies or persons to provide certain services including credit card processing, shipping, data management, promotional services, etc. We call them service providers. We provide our service providers with the information needed for them to perform these services. We also ask our service providers to confirm that their privacy practices are consistent with ours.

Although unlikely, in certain instances we may disclose your personal information when we have reason to believe that it is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against persons or entities who may be causing injury to you, to Crow’s Nest Apartments Whitianga or to others. We may also disclose your personal information when we believe the law requires it.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website can send to your computer which can be stored on your hard drive (persistent cookies) or in memory (session cookies). Cookies store information about your preferences on a particular website and can remain on your computer once you have exited from that website.

We use cookies to analyse website traffic patterns and use to help us develop the design and layout of our website and to tailor advertising to you when you visit our website – specifically we use Google Analytics, Google Adwords and Google Adwords Remarketing. Our website also uses third party cookies. The information we collect and share with third parties through cookies is grouped together as a whole and therefore anonymous (we do not use cookies to identify, monitor or track any personally identifiable information such as your name, age, phone number, e-mail address or mailing address).

You can set your web browser to notify you when a cookie is received, giving you an opportunity to accept or reject the cookie. You may choose to disable the “cookies” option on your web browser; however please note that doing so may affect the use of our website.

Google analytics

We use google analytics software to help measure traffic patterns to, from, and within our website. Google analytics anonymously monitors IP addresses and aggregates website statistics such as number of page views, the number of visitors, time spent on our site, browser types, and common entry and exit points into and from the website.

All information is aggregated by google analytics and provided to us to help us better understand usage of our website – no individual visitors are identified. Google analytics is a leader in the internet industry and their systems have been adopted as an accepted website traffic measurement standard amongst major internet sites.

Reports we receive from google analytics may include the following features:

• analysis of our paid digital advertising on other websites. This gives us insight into advertising views and helps us optimise and tailor our advertising.

• analysis of our website use relating to visitor age, gender and interests overall. This anonymised information helps us to understand browsing behaviour to help us with our marketing and give visitors a better experience whilst visiting our site.

• integration of our advertising and website analysis. This allows us to tailor our advertising to ensure the right types of offers are shown to you while you are using the internet outside our website.

Google’s privacy policy may also apply when you visit our website. You can access information about google analytics and Google’s privacy policy here.

Editing, updating, correcting and deleting information about you

Please note it may take up to 15 business days to process your request.
